Boating with the Carringtons

We spent a great day on Sunday June 10, 2007 on the Connecticut River with our friends, Mark, Kellie and Allie Carrington, of East Longmeadow, Mass. They recently purchased a Crownline powerboat and are docking it at the Oxbow Marina in Northampton, MA. We set out that morning amidst a cloudy sky and 62 degree temperature. However, once we dropped the anchor at "Rainbow Beach" the sun came out and we were soon joined by many other boaters and their families. It turned out to be a great day. We look forward to returning this weekend for another outing.

Macie celebrated her First Communion on May 19, 2007 at St. Mary's Church. After the service we joined all the other families at the school for a reception and then held our own reception at our house. Macie was lucky to have her Great Grandma Toole, her Mimi and Pops from Fairborn Ohio, her Nana from Seattle WA, and her Grandpa from Columbus Ohio, all here to celebrate with her. Also, her Godmother Auntie Laura Conner and her Godfather, "Uncle" Jay Utt both made the trip here. Macie's cousins Mollie and Sophia were a big hit with the big kids! enjoy these photos and then click on the link below to see more.

Boston's Run to Remember 2007

Mollie and Patrick participated in the Run to Remember in Boston in May 2007. Mollie ran the 1/2 marathon while Patrick opted for the less robust 5-mile race. Both finished successfully and we are looking forward to making it a family tradition. The kids enjoyed Boston for the weekend and we capped off our trip with a vist to the Boston Children's Museum on Monday. Mollie's racing partner was her good friend Wendy Collins. Patrick's racing partner was John Spencer. Enjoy these pictures and then click on the link below to see the rest of the pictures from this great weekend.

Thanks Grandpa for the tree fort!

May 2007 - Grandpa Armstrong visited us from Ohio for Macie's First Communion. While he was here, we put him to work. He tilled and prepared a new vegetable garden for Mollie and built a fence around it to keep out the rabbits. Then built the kids a very cool tree fort in the backyard.

Macie Climbs up the ladder into the new tree fort Grandpa Armstrong built for the kids. The weathered gray cedar boards visible in this picture above, were donated to the project by our good friend Paul Brown. With Paul's approval, we rescued these boards from his burn pile after he replaced his old cedar deck.

Jack enjoys the view from the inside of the tree fort! He is looking out the back. The entrance is through the middle of the maple tree, shown in the second photo below.

Spencers visit June 2007

We enjoyed hosting John, Brenda and Sophia Spencer June 1-3, 2007. They arrived Thursday night (5/31) so John and I could golf in a tournament early Friday morning. Saturday, Brenda and Mollie enjoyed a spa day at Cranwell Spa while John and Patrick watched the kids. Saturday night we ate dinner at Sweet Basil Grill and had a nightcap at the Lion's Den. Maggie, Macie, and Jack loved having "little sister" Sophia around and can't wait for her to return. Following are a few pictures from the weekend followed by a link to see all the photos.
